People always joke about OnlyFans as a last resort way to make money when the pennies are getting tight…
But I started taking the joking seriously.
I know people, in real life, who have made GOOD money from it and I thought… well, I enjoy being naked anyway so why the fuck not?!
I get naked a lot - which you’ll already know if you follow me on social media - and especially outside.
I already probably share WAY too much on my Instagram but the best thing about OnlyFans is that - not only do I not get banned for sharing my nipples but - I even get paid for the privilege…
So I thought I would share my experience.
I’m relatively new to it and my content, I’d say, is probably quite tame compared to some OF users…
I mainly share similar stuff to what I’d put on my public page but a lot less censored.
I share maybe a couple of posts a week and I currently have only 4 subscribers but it brings in an extra wee source of income and, most importantly, I find it fun!
I have really enjoyed finding new places to get my kit off - and have definitely been caught on more than one occasion - out in nature. From the beach to my local woods and quite often just my front garden.
I say my front garden (not THAT kind of front garden) because I don’t currently have a back one but that just makes it all the more exciting…
I have a subscription only account which means that none of my content is free so people have to pay by the month if they want to see the goods.
However, my limited amount of research has shown me that some of the bigger OF content creators - some of who seem to do it as a full time job - tend to have two accounts; one for free which provides a taste of what their subscribers might be getting themselves into on their slightly spicier second paid for account…
Apparently X (previously Twitter) also allows you to post full frontal nudes FOR FREE and even Reddit is well known for it’s naughty content - who knew?! (Everyone except me apparently…) So these are both also places that creators sometimes use to promote their pages and drum up the interest to encourage paying customers.
I have personally asked for no DMs on my OF account - I’m not interested in smutty conversation, I just want to share my photos for the sheer enjoyment of it. But, for someone looking to boost their income, I definitely think private messages are a big part of increasing the demand.
What I’ve also just recently learned is that, as a subscription only page, you can still offer Pay Per View (PPV) posts as private messages so you can provide exclusive content to those willing to pay for it over and above what you share on your main feed.
I try not to put too much pressure on myself in terms of what I am sharing or how often. I just do it whenever I feel like it and it is almost a creative outlet for me in a lot of ways.
There is that age old saying of the customer is always right but I’m not the kind of person who gives a shit. If people want to subscribe, great and, if they don’t, that’s fine with me. I’m done with my people pleasing era and I know that what I share won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but, for me, it is enough.
There’s a fine line between whether what I’m doing is empowering or slutty - maybe it is a little bit of both - and sometimes I wonder if I’m part of a wider problem. My body has been over-sexualised for almost my entire life and continues to be so I thought, in that case, why not take back control, put that power into my own hands and at least make some money from it?!
Maybe I’m just thinking about it all a little bit too much…
